Pop-up Shop – Logistics Assistant

Required Skills/Qualities:

  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances
  • Basic experience using a hand truck, dolly, or wagon for transporting merchandise
  • Reliable, punctual, and maintains clear, timely communication
  • Works well independently or collaboratively within a small team
  • Detail-oriented when handling products, displays, and setup materials
  • Willing and comfortable working in varied weather conditions
  • Has reliable personal transportation to and from event venues

Preferred Skills/Qualities:

  • Interest in kimono fashion, retail, or pop-up shop experiences
  • Previous experience in retail, events, or logistics

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload merchandise using a hand truck or wagon
  • Assemble and disassemble garment racks and lightweight display fixtures
  • Assist in assembling and disassembling the tent (outdoor setup) or frame (indoor setup)
  • Hang products on racks, ensuring visual presentation during setup
  • Unhang, fold, and bag garments during teardown
  • Maintain a clean and organized setup and breakdown area

Terms & Opportunities:

  • Compensation is available in the form of Kimono Kitsune store credit at $25/hour (preferred, as it supports reinvestment into the business) or financial compensation at $15/hour.
  • Shift lengths vary depending on the event. Load-in and load-out typically take about 30 minutes each, while setup and teardown generally require 1.5–3 hours. Plan to be available for up to 4 hours, though some events may require less time. Will always be compensated for the time you are actively working.
  • Pop-up shops typically occur on weekends, including Fridays. For multi-day events, setup may take place the evening before or the morning of the first day, with teardown in the afternoon of the last day. Single-day events will have setup before and teardown after open vending hours. Exact timing depends on the schedule and requirements of each event.
