Spotlight on Japanese Culture: Enthusiast from Ohio – ConsuLink

Our owner appeared in ConsuLink, the official newsletter of the Consulate-General of Japan in Detroit. She met the Senior Cultural/Public Relations Specialist at the Consulate during the Saginaw Japan Festival and again at the MI Bon Festival (in Novi, MI) and was asked if she would be willing to be featured.

Traeonna enjoys attending Japanese festivals in the region and often is stopped by attendees to talk about the kimono she is wearing. Not more than once has a Japanese person expressed, “you wear kimono more than Japanese do.” For her, it is simply what she wears most days.
